About Us

The College of Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi established the South Texas Economic Development Center in 2014. The Center is housed in the Michael and Karen O'Connor Building, together with the College of Business.

About the Center

In the midst of rapid development in South Texas, we promise to emerge as the primary think tank within the A&M System to address local economic, business and community development issues that are much needed by the public in Texas.

Mission Statement

The mission of the South Texas Economic Development Center (STEDC) is to support and advance sustainable economic and community development in South Texas, particularly the Coastal Bend region. STEDC provides consulting, education, research and data services to community stakeholders, including government and economic development agencies, and businesses.
